So, because I'm a massive geek, and my brain tends to ramble along strange paths when I'm walking, this totally bizarre image popped into my head this morning: Babylonne rushing around Toulouse listening to 'Firestarter' by The Prodigy on an iPod. Being the massive geek that I am, rather than being completely disturbed, I did what I always do, and made a Babylonne playlist (link is to my own journal).

Apparently Babylonne listens to a lot of Pendulum. Well, I maintain that if Babylonne were a real person, she'd be listening to melodramatic dance music. Or angsty 90s nu metal. You know it's true.

Hi everyone! Long time, no see.
I'm doing a drawing course right now (only 6 sessions) and I want to practice during the week. I'm not very good, but I want some things to experiment with. Can you give me some things that are Paganish that I could draw? Thanks!

http://bitofaninkling.deviantart.com/gallery/ Things that I've drawn before/recently. None of these are from the art course, just things I did last night and today (and years ago).

So I just finished another reread of the whole series (I tend to reread a couple of times each year, as the books are my go-to 'comfort books') and was forced to confront something that makes me feel guilty every time I read Pagan's Daughter.

Cut for shipping-related ramblings and spoilersCollapse )

Edited to hide potentially spoilery stuff behind a cut.

Has anyone read The Abused Werewolf Rescue Group? It's Catherine Jinks' newest book. I think it's a sequel or spinoff to The Reformed Vampire Support Group? What do you think of it? I was wondering whether to pick it up; Reformed wasn't quite my cup of tea. I guess I'm not as enthralled with Jinks' urban fantasy as with her medieval fiction. I was wondering if I should give her urban fantasy series a second chance.

If any of you've read it, what do you guys like about it, what do you dislike? Is it different or more or the same?

Time for me to stop lurking, I suppose.

I always pictured Esclaramonde looking like this woman. (Pic by DA artist Werdandi)

http://werdandi.deviantart.com/art/Inquisitor-II-88975290?q=gallery%3Awerdandi%2F1763760&qo=32

The picture's titled "Inquisitor II," which I suppose is morbidly ironic, but she's got the right stern, medieval look to her.

Before I saw that picture, I imagined Esclaramonde as the (obscure) actress Raiya Corsiglia. She's.. famous?... for being in a low-budget fantasy film that was never completed.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1158692/

Strangely, Esclaramonde is the only Pagan character who I imagine looking like any real actor or existing portrait... nobody else has captured any of the other characters for me, though I can distinctly imagine what they look like.

What sort of people do you have in your head?

And bringing fanart. This is my pup for an lj roleplaying comm, please do not post on his profile or anything like that.

Please comment on the actual DeviantArt pages if you can; and if not, feel free to comment here.
I am comment-motivated. Seriously.

Hi everyone! It's been quite a long time hasn't it. I've just been so busy lately. How are you all?

I have a question. I have a student in my group who is 10 and a very very good reader. He's been reading Snow Falling on Cedars, and all sorts of other books. He's very well spoken, he loves fantasy and also historical things.

Is he too young for Pagan? Or, more to the point, will I get in trouble as an educator for recommending Pagan to him? It's not like it's got much that is 'bad' in it, but as we know there are some controversial things, and he's in a Catholic school. Not sure how devout his family is however.

This song reminded me of Pagan for some reason. Maybe it would fit in the background whenever Esclaramonde is being buried.

A very late Merry Christmas to you all! In order to get myself in the mood for actually writing fanfiction, I decided to have some fun with the drabble generator and--who else?--Jordan and Pagan.
Title: I'm Dreaming of a Faraway Christmas
Rating: PG to a low PG-13, or triple C for extra crack-ness
Word Count: 212
Warnings: Sheer stupidity of it may cause involuntary giggles/spitting out of drinks.
Jordan/Pagan insanity ensues...Collapse )
